Jesus Sanders
31 year Teamster and 7 year Business Agent
Jesus Sanders joined the Teamsters in 1995 soon after completing his service in the U.S. Army Reserves. He began working as a UPS part‑time loader and took an active role in the historic 1997 strike, holding the picket line for two weeks. Jesus became a Shop Steward in 1998 while working at the West Sacramento UPS hub, serving in roles that included loader, driver, and hazmat responder.
For more than 20 years, Jesus served his fellow Teamsters as a Shop Steward, developing deep expertise in resolving member grievances and educating workers about their rights.
In 2007, Jesus became Recording Secretary for the Local 150 Executive Board, a role he held for 12 years.
Jesus later transitioned as a Business Agent in 2019, representing members at UPS, Farmers Brothers, Yellow Cab, and Penske Mechanics. As a Business Agent, Jesus has played a key role in negotiations, including the landmark 2023 UPS contract and the NorCal Supplement.
He remains deeply committed to defending his members’ rights and understands the power of a strong union, having raised his three sons while working as a Teamster.
Jesus Sanders is proudly running for position of Delegate on Team 150 Power Slate.
